2PAC LYRICS - Military Minds

2PAC LYRICS - Military Minds

Real hip hop is defined as true to ones original nature; thus being true to one's self. In the lyrics of Military Minds Tupac used the words " Tell me where my soldiers at/Put your pistols in the air/ Where my soldiers/ My true rollers/ Yes/ It just doesn't quit/ Yes/ This is the real hip hop shit/ Yes/ Fuck what you heard/ From the ghetto to the burbs/ Know we meant every word/ Where my soldiers". Tupac is speaking to hip hop artist being prepared for battle. The real hip hop is about being ready for any thing at any time and at any place.

The words my true soldiers give listners an idea that not all soldiers will be real; as with hip hop not all artist will be real. The lyrics from the ghetto to the burbs speak to hip hop having broken through bariers, we know now that hip hop is enjoyed by all races, classes and by individuals from all socio-economic backgrounds. So the questions remains, what defines hip hop? Hip hop is defined as being real. How would one define real? Real is defined as being true to ones self. If an artist is aware enough to know that hip hop encompasses both, he or she is on the road to being known as a true "REAL" hip hop artist!
