Real hip hop has come and gone away. Back in the day, hip hop always had some meaning. Now it’s either bitch this or nigga that. Beats is what makes songs today (artist such as soulja boy).Rappers now don’t tell stories in their music or write their own material. Songs back then had to rhyme, now all they do is repeat the same thing over and over. Hip Hop today is destructive to our community because rappers are acting as if drugs and killing each other is alright. Society has changed so much and I believe that this is a huge reason.
Controversial songs is songs that has a point to it.Tupac shakur was both a controversial and authentic artist,he has touched so many topics such as abortions,drugs,and even talked about the war.He also talks about GOD a lot.Hip Hop can be a lot of different things and different people can also be hip hop.What happened to art,poetry,and the drums.
Rappers can be diverse and still be authentic.Eminem is a perfect example of both topics.He has different sounds for his music.He rap fast,slow,goofy,and he is angry at times.
I chose this picture because it relates to society today, but in a good way.The picture says if you live by the gun, then you dye by the gun.Tupac is basically saying ,If you gone live that hard lifestyle,then you will dye by that hard lifestyle and for every actions its an equal and opposite reaction.I believe this is so true because rappers portray their self as hard and rich.People on the street try to be like these rappers and is willing to do anything to get like them.Not even realizing that they cant live that lifestyle and end up putting their self in a situation that they cant get out of or that's not for them.Society is listening to rappers say money over everything and they willing to steal and kill for money because in their mind its everything,not even realizing the consequences for their actions.
